Oh my gosh! I walked over to Dumbo this afternoon to the Etsy Labs!
Walking down the hall towards the Etsy sign I felt tingly. This is the place that has launched so many a crafty career, so many crafty items, seen so many crafters grow (myself included) and here I finally was, at Etsy HQ.
I slowly opened the large steel door – only because it weighs a tonne! 🙂 and was greeted by a friendly face! The reception area:
I’m sure my eyes were bugging and my mouth was gaping as I looked around in amazement. It was as if I had been transported back to preschool, and elementary school!! All sorts of giant size fun filled the lab. The receptionist went and grabbed Danielle for me. Danielle invited me to come visit the labs and be taken on a tour.
I made sure to leave nanotopia cards in the reception area… 😉
Danielle came around the corner where this giant cardboard owl sits and showed me these magical closet spaces. Etsy has commissioned different artists to create these closet installations. One was an office space with your typical office equipment and supplies all as over stuffed pillows.
There was an Evil Villian closet and one that looked like Dr Who’s Tardis- they were both under construction.
Secret Etsy super powers!
The giant cardboard owl:
Etsy is by far one of the coolest corporate environments I have ever seen! It truly made me feel like a little kid back at school. 🙂
Etsy HQ has these amazing lamps!! I absolutely and totally have to find out who makes them and get some!! I mean, check this out!
Oh it was super fun visiting Etsy. Danielle introduced me to some of the Etsy gang, they are all SO nice 🙂
Here’s my Etsy swag yo
More t-shirts to wear while I’m moppin’ up at Penland….
Last but not least, Danielle and I walked over to the Brooklyn ice cream factory and grabbed a cone. It was a great experience. Thanks Danielle!!
