In between casting (glass) and glass painting experimentation (reusche) I’ve been revisiting fused glass powder formations, and building up various sizes. My plan is to experiment with turning these now flat forms (some are slumped) into 3 dimensional hollow forms that, will eventually fill a room. I imagine them hanging from the ceiling and standing off walls. Depicting Algal blooms, and how they effect the environment good vs bad– also known as HABs.
Meanwhile, one of the kilns at the studio is down for the count. 😦 I’m hoping it is just the relay needing to be replaced… it’s been running great for 8 years! Anyways, this kiln currently not operational means using a smaller one, which equals moving ahead slowly. BAH!

The glass powders I’m working with are Reichenbach. Last year I purchased a bag of R-22 powder and figure I’ll just use it up creating Algae forms 🙂
I’m also playing with Bullseye Opaline. I lurve Opaline glass!
Thanks for looking!
