Few things in this world have the ability to grab, and hurl me into other dimensions like music. Music, or what I consider music, has always affected me in a truly visceral manner. As a child I loved to read stories with a ‘soundtrack’ playing. For instance, visuals of Moominland in Midwinter will forever come… Continue reading sonic tonic
I really enjoy Brain Pickings‘ articles, observations, insights, and musings! Today happens to be their 7th birthday, their 7 year anniversary! I’m celebrating with Maria Popova by sharing her incredibly thoughtful, insightful words of ‘wisdom’, or her; “…seven things I’ve learned in seven years of integrating “work” and life in such inextricable fusion.” They’re all… Continue reading Happy anniversary/birthday, Brain Pickings!

In anticipation of receiving my kiln collar (to add height to my AF138) I’ve begun the necessary studio preparations for Vitrigraph to commence! *images taken with my not-so-smart phone Next I had to cut the vermiculite board to the proper dimensions… the vermiculite board acts as the base of the kiln set-up. Most likely if you’ve thought of it (a design/concept) it has already happened. This holds… Continue reading Creative Commons
It’s Friday. I’m still coming down from all the work, and energy involved in creating BEAST though, I managed to get into the studio a couple times within the past 2 weeks. This ‘crash’ was unexpected. Full disclosure: I’ve been dosing on B12 & B6. Until I ran out, all was well. The visit with… Continue reading Project Grant: update #1, June 7
Phew! These past months have been mad crazy trying to complete all of the costumes, hold workshops and classes, pay rent and bills… Fortunately I’ve had supplies like glass, beads, leather, fabric, and yarn kicking around the studio for YEaRS! Honestly though, to whomever is out there actually reading this, the primary concern now is:… Continue reading Motherload

Working on prototypes for the performative living wearables – I finally cast the anatomical heart I’ve been working on. The heart will serve as the focal point of a leather harness, that will (eventually) attach to a metal and glass chastity belt similar to the one shown here.

This year I am not participating in the QWAC or City of Craft however, nanopod will be celebrating Dia de Los Muertos October… Continue reading Fall nano-news
